“There’s something about this.” Led by a sixth sense, he decided to market the product as soon as possible.

Buyers visit the supplier’s plant every now and then. The typical buyer would go home once he checked the schedule and talked about improvements; however, Kawano is no usual buyer. He once found a neodymium magnet, a very strong magnet, at a plant. “Honestly, I was amused. It was something super.” It was just a component and wasn’t intended to be sold, but he decided to sell it in the stores. It flew off the shelves.
He found a new item at a commodity trade show in China. Even though he had no idea how to use it, he thought, “There’s something about this.” Led by a sixth sense, he decided to market the product as soon as possible. It turned out to be a hit. “I have an eye for items that can set the fashion.” His intuition is based on curiosity, “But no one believes it!”

Repeatedly improves the Web shop for a searchable website.

Kawano established an ecommerce website and has been managing it as the chief of E-Commerce. “It required all my strength just to create the mechanism for shopping and shipping.” Now, as the initial stage of establishment is over, he is striving to improve the website to make it easier for customers to search for and buy items. “It’s not just what we want to sell. We can have interactive communication at an online store.” He asks the customers to share how they use the products and introduces them because he wants to make the website a place for Daiso followers to gather.

Another project he is working on is the deployment of Daiso products at convenience stores (CVSs). This is the first attempt for Daiso to partner with CVSs. “The sales volume isn’t much yet.
