Overseas Expansion
2001

First two overseas Daiso shops opened in Taiwan at the same time.

2001

The Giga Funabashi branch, the largest 100-yen shop in Japan with a sales floor area of about 5,498 m2, opened in Chiba.

2002

The Arcakit Kinshicho branch, a large-scale store with a sales floor area of about 3,200 m2, opened in Sumida Ward, Tokyo.

2003

Terrestrial digital broadcasting started.

2003

The 14,850 m2 HQ distribution warehouse acquired in Higashi-Hiroshima, and the 14,850 m2 dedicated Takaya warehouse was built.

The HQ distribution warehouse allowed the jump in the number of items.
2004

The first Daiso store in the Middle East opened in Dubai.

2006

The unprecedented privately run Daiso store opened in New Zealand.

2007

Japan Post dissolved.

Disability Employment Initiative

About 300 employees with disabilities are currently employed at Daiso Wing, a special subsidiary of Daiso Industry. Under the motto “No proactive aid is needed,” we discuss any problems together with the 300 employees, which motivates them to work harder, and we encourage future self-reliance.

Factory/warehouse, which handles plastic and silicone products, started operations in Thailand

The approximately 3,300 m2 Fukagawa warehouse was built in Tokyo as the East Japan logistics base, and Daiso rented the Sagamihara Nos. 3 and 4 warehouses in Kanagawa for an additional 9,900 m2.

We built eight regional distribution centers (RDCs) starting from Saitama and Osaka in July 2012; Niigata, Kyushu, Nagoya, and Hiroshima in 2013; and then Hokkaido and Chiba in 2014.

The JR Tokyo Station Marunouchi Station Building was renewed with the restoration of its original dome-shaped roof.

Acquired Chubu Shokai, which operated about 60 shops in Shizuoka Prefecture under the name ORANGE, as a subsidiary
